Get ready to welcome winter in true Salida style! Join the City of Salida and Monarch Mountain for Kickoff to Winter, an annual community celebration bringing together local businesses, residents, and winter enthusiasts to build some excitement for the season ahead.

The evening begins in the SteamPlant Ballroom with Kickoff to Winter from 5–6:30 PM, followed by a screening of Warren Miller’s 77th film, Days Off, in the SteamPlant Theater.

Follow host Katie Burrell and some of the world’s best athletes on a global journey celebrating the pure joy of skiing—from heli-drops in Alaska and high-alpine mountaineering in Chamonix to the powder of Hokkaido, Japan, and adventures throughout Canada and the Mountain West. Days Off captures the heart of mountain culture and the joy of making time for what matters most.
