Bonfire Entertainment: Smalltown Gathering

“The 2nd annual Smalltown Gathering returns to magical & artistic Salida, Colorado. The roots ofSmalltownwere planted by both Campout for the Cause and Renewal. These wonderful events and community have led us to a new home in downtown Salida, and the birth of The Smalltown Gathering: Music. Yoga. Community.

The venue is Riverside Park, along the river and under the cottonwoods, with two stages, yoga classes, a kids' zone, art vendors, food trucks, and more.

Smalltown is a quality over quantity gathering that has always been intimate, family-friendly and committed to community and conscious living. Unlike large-scale commercial festivals, we choose to remain intimate and intentional. Integrating the fabric of the community into all aspects of the gathering. Quality over quantity is a mantra and the festival is heralded for leaving their event spaces cleaner that they found them. Past performers have included names like Billy Strings, Elephant Revival, Fruition, Gregory Alan Isakov, The California Honeydrops, and more.”

Please walk, bike, or car pool where you can! Limited street parking around the park.

Family friendly, all ages!

Sventastik Productions Presents -Come From Away

Come From Away Come From Away is a critically acclaimed musical featuring a culturally relevant script accompanied by a deeply moving score by Irene Sankoff and David Hein. The show has earned global success with 37 award nominations, 13 of which resulted in wins, most notably Best New Musical at the 2019 Olivier Awards and Outstanding Musical at the 2017 Drama Desk Awards. The show’s global presence resonates across all audiences as an uplifting reminder of humanity’s ability to come together, no matter what the circumstances.

Come From Away is based on the true story of the time when the isolated community of Gander, Newfoundland, played host to the world. What started as an average day in a small town turned into an international sleepover, when 38 planes, carrying thousands of people from around the globe, were diverted to Gander’s airstrip on September 11, 2001. Undaunted by culture clashes and language barriers, the people of Gander cheered the stranded travelers with music, an open bar and the recognition that we’re all part of a global family.

Come From Away gives theatres the opportunity to contribute to its worldwide impact by spreading the show's message of kindness, unity, and resilience with their communities. With an all local and mutli-generational cast, Come From Away is guaranteed to be a show for audiences to remember.

“2026 will go down as the driest snowpack year on record in Colorado. Chaffee County’s economy is largely based on water-dependent businesses–recreation and agriculture. So what happens now? Bob Hamel, Executive Director of the Arkansas River Outfitters Association, and Greg Felt, General Manager of the Upper Arkansas Water Conservancy District, will lead a seminar on how water is managed in the Upper Arkansas drainage, how water users are adjusting to an unprecedented shortage, and how this low water year might impact outfitters and the environment.”
