Sventastik Productions Presents -Come From Away
Come From Away Come From Away is a critically acclaimed musical featuring a culturally relevant script accompanied by a deeply moving score by Irene Sankoff and David Hein. The show has earned global success with 37 award nominations, 13 of which resulted in wins, most notably Best New Musical at the 2019 Olivier Awards and Outstanding Musical at the 2017 Drama Desk Awards. The show’s global presence resonates across all audiences as an uplifting reminder of humanity’s ability to come together, no matter what the circumstances.
Come From Away is based on the true story of the time when the isolated community of Gander, Newfoundland, played host to the world. What started as an average day in a small town turned into an international sleepover, when 38 planes, carrying thousands of people from around the globe, were diverted to Gander’s airstrip on September 11, 2001. Undaunted by culture clashes and language barriers, the people of Gander cheered the stranded travelers with music, an open bar and the recognition that we’re all part of a global family.
Come From Away gives theatres the opportunity to contribute to its worldwide impact by spreading the show's message of kindness, unity, and resilience with their communities. With an all local and mutli-generational cast, Come From Away is guaranteed to be a show for audiences to remember.

Chaffee County Regional Housing Needs Assessment Community Meeting
Chaffee County, Buena Vista, Poncha Springs, and Salida are partnering on a Regional Housing Needs Assessment (HNA) to determine the greatest housing needs and better understand challenges faced by residents in finding and keeping stable housing. This HNA will provide an update to the 2016 HNA update completed in 2022. The HNA is the foundation for community-specific Housing Action Plans (HAP) that will identify specific strategies to address housing affordability, stability, and future growth across the county. Together, these efforts will help local governments build on recent housing successes and better support residents and the regional workforce. Completing the Housing Needs Assessment will ensure Chaffee County local governments and housing organizations can continue to access state funding for investment in housing. Please join us at the Scout Hut for a community meeting on May 6th to share your thoughts on housing needs in your community and how you would like to see those needs addressed. Salida Theater Project Presents: Clue
April 9-12
Showtime:
Thurs - Sat 7:00PM
Sunday Matinee 2:00PM
SteamPlant Theater
Salida Theater Project is bringing more than a murder mystery to the stage this April -- we’re bringing one to the entire town of Salida.
When Clue opens at the Salida SteamPlant on April 9th, audiences will enjoy the fast-paced comedy and iconic characters made famous by the board game and 1985 film. But before the curtain rises, the mystery begins on our streets.
Starting March 27, STP launches the Clue–Salida Mystery Challenge, inviting the community to test how well they know local businesses. Participants will solve riddles posted at www.salidatheaterproject.com to identify six participating locations around town. If they think they’ve solved one, they’ll stop in and ask the magic question: “Are you a Clue site?” They’ll scan the QR code to get a letter. When they've gathered the letters to spell the mystery clue, they'll submit their answer at one of the performances for a chance to win prizes.
The challenge runs through April 12 and encourages both locals and visitors to explore Salida in a new way. Theatergoers can also join the fun by dressing up for a Clue-themed costume contest during the show’s run, with prizes awarded after each performance.
Clue runs April 9, 10, 11 and 12 at the Salida SteamPlant. Tickets and details are available at www.salidatheaterproject.com.
