Stephen Graham Jones is the NYT bestselling author of thirty-five or so novels and collections, and there’s some novellas and comic books in there as well. Stephen’s been an NEA recipient, has won the Texas Institute of Letters Award for Fiction, the Los Angeles Times Ray Bradbury Prize, the Mark Twain American Voice in Literature Award, the August Derleth British Fantasy Award for Best Horror Novel, the Independent Publishers Award for Multicultural Fiction, the Western Literature Association’s Distinguished Achievement Award, the American Library Association’s RUSA Award and Alex Award, the 2023 American Indian Festival of Words Writers Award, the Locus Award, four Bram Stoker Awards, three Shirley Jackson Awards, and six This is Horror Awards. Stephen’s also been inducted into the Texas Literary Hall of Fame, he’s been a finalist for the World Fantasy Award, and the Eisner Award, and he’s made Bloody Disgusting’s Top Ten Horror Novels, been a New York Times Book Club selection, and been on Barack Obama’s Summer Reading List. He’s the guy who wrote Mongrels, The Only Good Indians, My Heart is a Chainsaw,Earthdivers, I Was a Teenage Slasher, The Buffalo Hunter Hunter, and Killer on the Road. Stephen lives in Boulder, Colorado.

Bonfire Entertainment: Smalltown Gathering
“The 2nd annual Smalltown Gathering returns to magical & artistic Salida, Colorado. The roots ofSmalltownwere planted by both Campout for the Cause and Renewal. These wonderful events and community have led us to a new home in downtown Salida, and the birth of The Smalltown Gathering: Music. Yoga. Community.
The venue is Riverside Park, along the river and under the cottonwoods, with two stages, yoga classes, a kids' zone, art vendors, food trucks, and more.
Smalltown is a quality over quantity gathering that has always been intimate, family-friendly and committed to community and conscious living. Unlike large-scale commercial festivals, we choose to remain intimate and intentional. Integrating the fabric of the community into all aspects of the gathering. Quality over quantity is a mantra and the festival is heralded for leaving their event spaces cleaner that they found them. Jamie Winsand is a mixed-media artist based in Buena Vista, Colorado, creating three-dimensional wall sculptures from repurposed materials. By transforming discarded fabrics, rope, denim, and found objects into textured, layered compositions, Winsand explores themes of renewal, connection, and transformation. Blurring the boundaries between sculpture, textile art, and painting, the work invites viewers to discover beauty and meaning in unexpected materials. Winsand's work is exhibited at BV Art & Photo and Joyful Bakery in Buena Vista, and is currently featured at LookUp Gallery in Colorado Springs.

Falconaires, the headliner: Falconaires The professional Airmen-musicians in the Falconaires follow a long blue line of talented Air Force Academy bandsmen, dedicated to serving our great nation. We represent the young men and women at the United States Air Force Academy training to be officers of character and quality who will lead our Air Force and Space Force. It is also our distinct privilege to support our veterans and all men and women currently serving around the globe, protecting the freedoms we all enjoy. These selfless Americans allow us to share the music and remarkable talents of the Falconaires. The versatility and professionalism of this unique ensemble reflect the great diversity and ingenuity that makes the United States Air Force the greatest air force the world has ever known. The Air Force Academy Band's Falconaires play a major role in cultivating our national heritage through America's foremost musical genre: jazz!
Zephyr Jazz: blends the driving energy of Pop, Rock and Soul with the sophisticated harmonies, syncopation, and improvisational freedom of jazz. This genre-defying ensemble seamlessly transitions from Latin grooves to Afrobeat rhythms to Classic Jazz or Rhythm and Blues. In addition to original compositions authored by guitarist Rob Teegarden, listeners can expect to hear tunes from a diverse group of musicians including Trombone Shorty, Pat Matheny, Kenny Garrett, Stevie Wonder and Santana. Members of the band include Rob Teegarden (guitar), Michael Haynes (drums), Mike Pollock (trumpet, vocals) and Kent Davidson (bass). The setlists offers something for everyone, combining nostalgic, recognizable melodies with virtuosic, unexpected twists---a sonic experience for both jazz purists and rock fans alike.

Join us for Jazzy First Friday August 7. Be sure to stop by the host gallery Salida Dreamer at 139 W 1st St with live music by Chris Nasca. Also enjoy live jazz on the street by Shaw & Zimola. The two musicians Conner Shaw (guitar/banjo) and Aaron Zimola (violin/fiddle) bring over 20 years of versatile performance experience to gigs and concerts. Shaw & Zimola play a variety of music ranging from bluegrass and Celtic to Classical pieces and jazz. Their sound is simultaneously rustic and fresh, breathing new life into vintage musings, and antique sonic charm to new compositions. **Galleries and businesses stay open later. Blue Recluse is a five piece power blues band. They play a wide range of blues, rhythm and blues, and country blues from the ‘40s to the present day. • The Metropolitan Opera encore of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin recorded live from the Met stage to cinemas worldwide as part of the 2025–26 The Met: Live in HD season.
Tchaikovsky Eugene Onegin Following her acclaimed 2024 company debut in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, soprano Asmik Grigorian returns to the Met to sing the role of Tatiana, the lovestruck young heroine in this operatic adaptation of Pushkin. Baritone Igor Golovatenko is the urbane Onegin, who realizes his affection for her all too late in the production by Tony Award–winner Deborah Warner. Timur Zangiev conducts the May 2 performance, from the Met stage to cinemas worldwide in an encore rebroadcast at the SteamPlant on July 26.

Tim “Too Slim“ Langford is a monster guitarist and unabashed blues rocker whose influences run the gamut from Lightnin’ Hopkins, Freddy King, Duane Allman, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Robin Trower.
He is a prolific singer/songwriter whose songs have now yielded an impressive 14 studio albums, 2 solo albums and several live CD’s on the Vizztone and his own Underworld Records labels. Too Slim and the Taildraggers are Tim “Too Slim" Langford on guitar/vocals, Zach Kasik on bass/vocals and Chris Reiser on drums/vocals.

The Remedy their latest studio effort debuted at #3 on the Billboard Top Blues Album Chart. ‘High Desert Heat’ their 2018 release charted 11 times in the Billboard Top Blues Album Chart in 2018 and is nominated for Best Blues/Rock album at the 2019 Blues Music awards. High Desert Heat was also featured in heavy rotation on Sirius XM’s B.B. King’s Bluesville.
Their 2016 release ‘Blood Moon’ was nominated for Blues Rock Album of the Year at the 2016 Blues Blast Music Awards and was voted Blues Rock Album of the Year at the 2016 Jimi Awards. Blood Moon reached #6 on the Billboard Top Blues Album Chart in 2016. The 2014 release Anthology was voted #1 Blues Album of the Year by Blues Matters Writers Poll in 2015. The 2013 release ‘Blue Heart’ rose to #3 on the Billboard Top Blues Album Chart and was nominated for Rock/Blues Album of the Year at the 2014 Blues Blast Music Awards. Shiver the 2011 release, was nominated for Rock/Blues Album of the Year by the Blues Foundation’s Blues Music Awards.
Too Slim and the Taildraggers ever evolving musical direction cannot easily be classified into any box or category. Tim “Too Slim" Langford has received Lifetime Achievement and Hall Of Fame awards by three Northwest blues societies, as well as more than 40 regional and national music awards. Too Slim and the Taildraggers music has also been featured on MTV’s series, The Real World and Road Rules.
