The award-winning Chris Collins brings to the stage the amazing vocals, energy and unmistakable enthusiasm that was the hallmark of a John Denver performance. He is joined by the consummate musicians who tour with Chris as members of Boulder Canyon. Both Berkley School of Music graduates, Alexander Mitchell on fiddle, guitar and mandolin and Nigel Newton on keys, have numerous years of experience as musicians in many genres. These talented artists have been receiving delighted acclaim from audiences all over the country and abroad while emerging as the top performers of John Denver’s music.

With the show’s captivating performance, Collins and his band members, Mitchell and Newton, perform many of John Denver’s famous hits such as Rocky Mountain High, Take Me Home, Country Roads, Annie’s Song, Sunshine, and many others in an unforgettable concert in tribute to one of the greatest artists of our time.

Bring your picnic and your dancing shoes as the City of Salida Arts & Culture Department kicks off 10 weeks of free summer concerts for the community! The beloved summer tradition continues featuring local and regional musicians. Thursdays starting June 25, 6:30pm-8:00pm in Riverside Park.

The 3rd annual Salida Chalk Festival on Saturday, June 27 will transform downtown Salida into a giant outdoor gallery of colorful murals as artists create 6’ x 6’ temporary art works of chalk and pastel live during the festival. Like the Madonnari tradition of chalk painting of Italy, artists will create their works on the street. The Salida Chalk Festival is produced by Salida Arts and Culture in the Salida Creative District.

This year’s theme is Down by the River. Selected artists receive a set of 24 color pastels, an event "artist" t-shirt, lunch, and artist stipend. Celebration and Awards ceremony. The Salida Chalk Festival will be held rain or shine.

Bob Hamel, Executive Director of the Arkansas River Outfitters Association, and Greg Felt, General Manager of the Upper Arkansas Water Conservancy District, will lead a seminar on how water is managed in the Upper Arkansas drainage, how water users are adjusting to an unprecedented shortage, and how this low water year might impact outfitters and the environment.”
